The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun has demanded apology from Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Olokode, for the malicious damage done to the reputation of the State APC Chairman, Hon Rasaq Salinsile and six other leaders of the party.

Reacting to the dismissal of the case against the TOP leaders, Chairman of the caucus, Reverend Adelowo Adebiyi, said it is only an unreserved public apology made through several broadcast that can mitigate the lies told against the APC leaders.

He chided the police for turning the victims of the unprovoked attack on them into accused persons when it was clear that they are innocent.

According to Adebiyi, the arrest and arraignment of the TOP leaders was the most unfortunate step taken by Governor Oyetola against members of his party whose desire has been to have a reformed APC.

Adebiyi who noted that the malicious allegations made by the Governor Oyetola’s people against the APC leaders had caused damages to their good reputation they have by their antecedents and added to by dint of hard work they personally put into their lives.

He wondered why the Governor and his people allowed desperation to push them into alleging the TOP leaders with the offences which was planned and sponsored and got executed by the Governor’s agents.

The pioneer Osun APC Chairman however, rhetorically noted that since God is not always on the side of the treacherous people, karma will always catch up with deceitful characters that the Governor’s people were and has been.

Adebiyi noted that with so much impunity put into the activities of Osun APC in recent years, it will take a lot of efforts and strong backing of God for cohesion to dwell within members of the party.

He, however, expressed optimism that with the newly elected Salinsile led state executives and the patriotic members elected at the ward and local government levels of the party, new things will begin to happen.
