Elder statesman and chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, is dead.
It was gathered that he died at the age of 96 on Friday morning at his residence in Lekki, Lagos State.

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, over her assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
In a statement on Friday by the Acting Registrar, Victor Modebelu, said the Acting Vice-Chancellor had received the report from the Student Disciplinary Committee on the student’s assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theater and Film Studies.

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned Governor Ademola Adeleke to desist from politicising the judiciary and respect the recent Court of Appeal ruling that reinstated local government chairmen sacked by his administration.
In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, and obtained by Osun Defender on Thursday, the APC described Adeleke’s reaction to the court judgment as “a display of executive recklessness” and accused him of attempting to undermine the rule of law.
