The Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has charged traditional rulers to maintain peace and stability in their domains.
Ogbeni Aregbesola gave the charge today while presenting staff of office and instruments of appointment to Obaala of Ila Orangun, Obaala Samuel Olufemi Otitoola at the event held at the Palace of Orangun of Ila.
The Governor, who was represented at the event by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Olubisi Odewumi called on the people of Ila Orangun to continue to support his government in the development of the state.
The Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdul Wahab Kayode Adedotun Bibire 1 while addressing the people at the event explained that he supported the elevation of Obaala of Ila Orangun for the development and progress of Ila Orangun. He congratulated Obaala on his elevation saying that he should continue to work for peace and progress of Ila Orangun.
The Executive Secretary of Ila Central Local Council Development Area, Chief Ademola Kolawole appreciated the gesture of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for creating a new Local Council Development Area in Ila. He added that this has been yielding positive results in the development of the ancient city.
The newly elevated monarch, Obaala Samuel Olufemi Otitoola expressed his gratitude to the government of Ogbeni Aregbesola for the honour done him promising to provide a purposeful leadership for his people and continue to accord due respect to Orangun of Ila.
