1: I’m Not Afraid Of Death Over Revitalization Of Sports Sector – Osun Dep Gov
The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, on Friday, said he was not afraid of being killed over the revitalization of the sports sector in Osun State.
This was as he appealed to workers in the state sports council, as well as the Ministry of Sports to cooperate towards delivering Governor Ademola Adeleke’s development agenda for the sector.
Adewusi who also doubled as the state Commissioner for Sports, maintained that stepping on toes would not be his problem to ensure sports development in the state, adding that measures are in place to establish a sports commission to deliver on the governor’s agenda.
2: Gunmen Shoot Man Dead Inside Wife’s Shop In Osun
Some yet-to-be-identified assailants in Ada, Osun State, on Thursday evening, shot dead a 42-year-old man, Dele Agboola.
Agboola, OSUN DEFENDER gathered, was shot dead around 8:40 pm, by three men who disguised as customers who wanted to purchase medicine at his wife’s located in Pako Area, Ada.
A resident of the Area, who identified herself simply as Temitayo, said the assailants were believed to be three in number and arrived when the deceased had even left the shop and went inside his residence.
3: Ilesa Killings: We’ve Arrest Some Suspects – Osun Police
The Osun State Police Command on Thursday, said it had arrested some suspects in connection with the bloody cult clashes involving rival cult groups in Ilesa area of the state.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that there was a renewed cult clash in Ilesa last week leading to the death of about six persons.
The Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke directed security and agencies on Wednesday to end the violent attacks, describing the killing spree as ‘shocking and reprehensible,’ calling on the police service and other security agencies to act decisively to stop the cult clashes.
he state Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, while speaking to newsmen, said, ‘Some arrests have been made’.
4: Report energy theft and get paid, IBEDC tells customers
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), on Friday, called on residents of Osun State to report anyone engaging in energy theft, saying there was a 10 per cent incentive on every fine paid by energy theft offender to anyone who reported it.
IBEDC Senior Communication Officer, Osun region, Kikelomo Owoeye, disclosed this during the parade of six energy theft suspects at the headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ido Osun.
The suspects are, Abidoye Eniola (28), Ajibola Isiaka (46), (MALE) 46YRS, Omobolarinwa Muideen (31), Oluwasegun Owolabi (50), Oyeniran Taiwo (36) and Omotoyosi Azeez.
According to Owoeye, the region in the last six months in collaboration with NSCDC has arrested over 1200 energy theft offenders.
