In a move against the prevailing economic hardship in Nigeria, members of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement staged a peaceful protest in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Monday, calling on Nigerians to rise above fear and speak out against the deteriorating state of the nation.
Chanting protest slogans such as “Tinubu is a thief!” and “Èbí ò!”—a Yoruba phrase meaning “We are hungry!”—the protesters voiced their frustration over the deepening poverty, food inflation, and general economic decline under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

2. Osun Assembly Passes Consumer Protection Agency Bill Into Law
The Osun State House of Assembly on Monday passed the Consumer Protection Agency Bill 2024 into law after its third reading.
The bill was passed during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, after overwhelming support from the lawmakers.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, noted that the bill which was sponsored by the lawmaker representing Ede North State Constituency, Hon. Babajide Kofoworola, aims to promote and protect the rights of the consumer and also to promote fair trading practices throughout the state. It established a dedicated agency, Osun State Consumer Protection Agency, tasked with safeguarding the interests of consumers.

3. 3,000 Displaced Osun Villagers Seek Govt Intervention
About 3,000 residents of Iloba and Oloosape in Osun State have called on both the federal and state governments to intervene in their plight, seeking to return to their communities after being displaced by hoodlums in 2019.
The affected residents, all farmers, claimed they were driven out by criminals from the neighboring Egbedi community.
Speaking on behalf of the displaced communities in Osogbo on Monday, the Olu of Oloosape, Oba Hassan Adegoke, revealed that almost all the buildings in Iloba and his own community were destroyed during the attack.
