1. Two Feared Killed As Hoodlums Clash Over Tribute In Osogbo

There was panic in the Igbona area of Osogbo on Thursday afternoon when some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums reportedly clashed in the area, with two people feared dead.

According to sources, trouble started when the hoodlums clashed over who to collect ‘area boys’, money at an ongoing project site at at Bishop/Ayoola Street.

The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m., OSUN DEFENDER reliably gathered that residents and shop owners in the area scampered for safety.

A source who witnessed the incident said one of the hoodlums who shot at the victim came with a Toyota Camry car and had a pump action gun.

The source said the hoodlum, after shooting the victim, rushed back to where he parked his vehicle on the main road and drove off.

2. Osun Communities Decry Deplorable Road Network

Ejigbo Local Government Development Association has decried the poor state of roads linking communities in the area with other towns, calling on Governor Ademola Adeleke to come to their aid.

The Association said Ejigbo town recently lost out on an investment opportunity due to the poor situation of the roads.

The chairman of the Association, Engr. Ademola Adeniyi stated this on Thursday in Ola community while giving the stewardship account of the group in the last five years.

3. Amotekun Officer Killed During Ambush With Hoodlums In Osun

An operative with the Osun State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Mr. Lamidi Abiodun, has been killed during an ambush by suspected armed hoodlums at the Papa boundary area in Iwo, Osun State.

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Yusuf Idowu Abass said the incident occurred on Wednesday, following a distress call from local farmers operating in the Papa Farm area Iwo.

5. 2026: Adeleke To Bribe Labour Unions With N172m For His Second Term Adoption – APC Alleges

The opposition All Progressives Congress in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of plans to bribe the leadership of the state chapters of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees NULGE and the Trade Union Congress TUC to adopt his second term in office.

According to the APC, the labour unions are being forced to adopt Governor Adeleke for the second term during the May Day anniversary slated for the Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo, Osun State.
