1. Basiru Berates Osun Assembly For Proposing Jail Term For Skating In Public
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has lampooned the Osun State House of Assembly for proposing jail terms and fines for those who skate publicly in the state.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the Assembly, on Tuesday, during plenary, proposed a bill that could see individuals skating on public roads or sidewalks facing up to six months in prison or a fine of N250,000.
But a statement by Basiru’s gubernatorial campaign organisation, while berating the speaker of the House, Adewale Egbedun, advised the lawmakers to halt the bill.

2. Masquerade Follower Shot Dead During Procession In Osun
An operative of the Amotekun Corps in Osun has reportedly shot dead a follower of the Orogun Meji masquerade, identified simply as Olubukola.
The incident happened on Monday during a procession in Ikirun, Osun State.
The incident occurred on Monday, during a parade held to herald the performance of the masquerade as part of preparations for the Egungun Festival scheduled for the following day.

3. OSUN 2026: The Contenders, Pretenders To APC Guber Ticket
The race for who gets the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to challenge incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State has begun.
The governorship election slated for 2026 will see the APC attempting to take power from the Peoples Democratic Party, who defeated ex-governor Gboyega Oyetola after 12 years of the APC ruling in the state.
Meanwhile, the choice of candidate to fly the APC’s flag has reportedly divided members of the party, as there have been loud calls for the ticket to be zoned to the West Senatorial District, a development rejected by the National Secretary of the party, Ajibola Basiru, who is also an aspirant.
