1. NULGE: Osun Judge Recuses Self From Case After APC’s Allegations
The Presiding Judge of the Osun State High Court, Ikirun division, Justice I. O. Adeleke, on Thursday, recused himself from the case instituted by the Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that NULGE dragged the All Progressives Congress and elected local government chairmen from the October 15, 2022, election before the high court, seeking a perpetual restraining order against them.
NULGE, through its legal counsel, Mr. Musibau Adetunbi (SAN), is asking the court to stop the APC-backed chairmen and councillors from resuming office or interfering in the operations of the 30 local government councils in the state.

2. Tinubu Nominates Oyetola’s Ex-Chief Of Staff As MD South West Development Commission
President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Charles Akinola, former chief of staff to Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of Osun State, as the Managing Director of the South West Development Commission (SWDC).
The nomination was announced on social media by chieftains and members of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Meanwhile, the National Secretary of the party, Ajibola Basiru, in a congratulatory message, said he was thrilled by the appointment, adding that Akinola’s experience would greatly impact the southwest and beyond.
Basiru thanked President Tinubu for finding Dr. Akinola worthy of the “all-important assignment”.
“I am thrilled by the appointment of my brother, Dr. Charles Akinola over his appointment as Managing Director of the newly-created South West Development Commission. Dr. Akinola’s experience will, in no small way, help the commission as it seeks to be a model for other similar commissions.
“Dr. Akinola’s appointment is one of those that sweetens the heart because a round peg is put in a round hole. I have had things to do with him in the past and I can confirm he is a development expert.
“I thank President Bola Tinubu for finding Dr. Charles Akinola worthy of this all-important assignment. I also congratulate the nominee and wish him a good tenure of office,” Basiru added.
