The Osun State House of Assembly has affirmed the elected chairmen on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the legitimate executives in charge of local government councils across the state.

This was as the lawmakers cautioned the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) against releasing council allocations to the sacked APC chairmen, pointing out that a court ruling had removed them from office and the state electoral commission had officially withdrawn their Certificates of Return.

The lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke against blackmailing President Bola Tinubu over the local government crisis rocking Osun State.

Oke, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, in an open letter to Governor Adeleke, noted that the state government was the one inflicting pains on beneficiaries of local government administration in Osun State by not doing the right thing.

3. Osun Reps Accuse FG Of Withholding LG Funds, Petition Tinubu

Members of the House of Representatives from Osun State have accused the federal government of unlawfully withholding funds meant for the 30 local government councils in the state, describing the action as unconstitutional, politically motivated, and a violation of the principles of true federalism.

In an open letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu, eight members of the Osun State Caucus in the House of Representatives called for the immediate release of the seized funds, lamenting that the development was crippling local governance and service delivery in the state.
