Governor Ademola Adeleke has praised one of his predecessors, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for initiating the Osogbo East Bye Pass Ring Road, noting that his foresight has brought development to the people of the state capital.

2. Osun, Oyo People Will Teach APC Lesson – Makinde
The Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, might have been a bit distracted when he said that his party would capture Osun and Oyo states.
The governor maintained that the statement, which came on the heels of the Edo and Ondo states governorship elections, was misguided, noting that the people of Osun State, who have been blessed to see the light that Governor Ademola Adeleke represents, would show the APC ‘pepper’ in the next governorship election in the state.

3. OAU Fresh Students Lament Over Postponement Of Matriculation
Newly admitted students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State have expressed disappointment on Wednesday following the indefinite postponement of the 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony.
The event, initially slated for Thursday, December 5, 2024, was postponed just a day before the scheduled date.

4. Police Arrest One Over Osun Farmer’s Killing
The Osun State Police Command, on Wednesday, said a suspect had been arrested in connection with the alleged killing of a farmer from Ilobu, Sikiru Onaolapo, on his farm in the Oke Ekutu area.
The Oke Ekutu area is one of the settlements located within areas causing disputes between the Ilobu and Ifon-Orolu communities.
Onaolapo’s corpse was taken to the entrance to the Olobu of Ilobu’s palace on Tuesday, with the lifeless body of the farmer laid in a car, leading to tension and raising fear of reprisals.
Also, in video footage amid wailings, Ilobu residents demanded immediate action from the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the security agents to de-escalate tension and prevent reprisal in the area.
5. Osun Ruling Houses Protest Appointment Of Non-Indigene As Oniran Of Ilu-Iran
Members of Awanibaku, Olaitan, and Orunmo ruling houses have frowned at the appointment of Mr Kunle Omolola as the new Oniran of Ilu-Iran in Ayedire South Local Council Development Area, Olupona, Osun State.
The ruling houses said that Omolola was not an indigene of Ilu-Iran or a member of any of the entitled royal families.
In a letter addressed to Governor Ademola Adeleke, the ruling houses through their counsel, Apex Solicitors, the ruling houses alleged that they were deliberately sidelined by officials of Ayedire South Local Council Development Area in the appointment of the new Oniran.
The letter, titled, ‘A passionate demand for setting aside the appointment of one Hon. Kunle Omolola as Oniran of Ilu-Iran,’ signed by Mr. Ahmad Abdullateef on behalf of Apex solicitors, said the appointed Oniran is an indigene of Elefon village in Oke-Osun and has no business with the vacant stool.
