A civil society organisation, Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development (IICSD), has raised the alarm over the continued shutdown of local government areas in Osun State, which has now entered its 170th day today (Wednesday).
The group, in a press statement signed by its Executive Director, Jare Tiamiyu, lamented the crippling of governance at the grassroots level since February 17, 2025, describing the development as a deliberate sabotage of the most crucial tier of government in the state.

2. ‘I Will Make You Beg For Death’, Osun APC Member Reportedly Arrested, Arraigned For Threatening Gov Adeleke (Video)
A member of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Dolapo Gafar, popularly known as Governor Ifedolapo has reportedly been arrested by men of the Oyo State Police Command over a video where he threatened Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke.
According to posts by members of the APC in the state, Gafar, who stays in Ibadan, was allegedly arraigned in a magistrate court on Tuesday morning.
