1. APC, Osun Gov’s Wife Clash Over First Lady Tinubu’s Business Grant To Women
The State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Women Leader, Mrs. Kudiratu Fakokunde, yesterday lamented that female members of the party were shortchanged by the Wife to Osun State governor, Mrs. Titilayo Adeleke, in the distribution of business support grants to women initiated by the First Lady of the federation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
No fewer than 200 businesswomen across the 332 wards benefited from the grant to boost their trades and businesses.
The gesture conveyed under the Renewed Hope Initiative of Mrs. Tinubu was done in partnership with The Tony Elumelu Foundation to empower the grassroots women across the country.
Speaking during the presentation of the grants to the Osun Women at Tinubu/Shettima campaign office, Osogbo, Mrs. Fakokunde, applauded Mrs. Remi Tinubu for the initiative, stressing that it will go a long way toward encouraging women to be active contributors to their families’ livelihoods.
2. 10th NASS: Three Osun Federal Lawmakers Rated Low In Performance Report
Three members of the House of Representatives in Osun State have been rated low in their contributions at the floor of the house between June 14, 2023 – June 23, 2024.
This was revealed during the unveiling of the National Assembly Deliberative Barometer and Policy-Focus Productivity Report, a ground-breaking digital accountability platform developed by ERGAF-AFRICA in collaboration with CISLAC and partners.

3. Apetu’s Conviction: Osun Govt Reveals Next Move
The Osun State Government on Wednesday said it will obtain the Certified True Copy of the judgment of a United States court that sentenced the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede, to prison over a multimillion-dollar COVID-19 relief fund fraud.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the 62-year-old dual citizen of Nigeria and the United States was on Tuesday sentenced to 56 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Christopher A. Boyko.
