1. Osun APC, PDP LG Chair Trade Words Over Violence At INEC Office

The All Progressives Congress in Osun State and the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Sharafadeen Awotunde, have traded words over the attack which occurred at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the area.

The APC had alleged that two of its members, Taiwo Kazeem and Oladimeji Olamilekan, were attacked by some hoodlums at the ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise at the INEC office in Ifelodun LG.

2. Osun Govt Supports Deputy Gov Amidst No Confidence Vote

The Osun state government has reaffirmed full confidence in the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi amidst the vote of no confidence passed on him by members of the party in Ife Federal Constituency.

It would be recalled that Chieftains and members of the PDP, including the Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, on Monday, passed a no-confidence vote on Adewusi and the Chairman of University Council, Prof Wale Oladipo.

3. Ex-Convict Jailed For Stealing Yams In Osun

An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo has sentenced a 28-year-old auto mechanic, Akeem Jimoh, to three-year jail term for stealing some tubers of yams worth N35,000.

Jimoh admitted to committing the crime when he appeared before the Court on Wednesday.

In the charge sheet containing details of the offence committed by the defendant, Jimoh stole 17 tubers of yams behind Africa Primary School, Ataoja Area in Osogbo, around 10 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025.

After listening to his charge, the defendant, who had no legal representation, pleaded guilty to the one-count charge bothering on theft, pressed against him by the police.
