1. Osun Assembly Warns Against Withdrawal Of Reportedly Released Withheld LG Allocations

The Osun State House of Assembly has stated that only duly authorised officers under the employment of the Local Government Service Commission are permitted to be signatories to Local Government accounts.

The lawmaker stated this during their plenary on Monday, where they passed a resolution on the proper management, operation, and procedures for the withdrawal of Local Government funds across the State.

2. Months After Endorsing Tinubu, Adeleke’s Aides, Supporters Lash Out at President

The political atmosphere in Osun State is currently charged following the controversial release of local government funds to the sacked All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmen by the Federal Government.

3. Insecurity: Group Urges Adeleke To Be Proactive, Secure Osun Borders, Forests

A civil society group, the Center for Social Justice and Public Protection (CSJPP), has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to take proactive measures and ensure the insecurity ravaging neighbouring Kwara State does not cascade into Osun State.

The group made the call following the latest attack by bandits on security personnel and residents of Kwara on Sunday morning.

4. Ministry Of Chieftaincy Officials Planning To Reverse Our Elevation, Osun Monarchs Tell Adeleke

Two traditional rulers in Osun State who were recently elevated to part II Obas by Governor Ademola Adeleke, have cried out over an alleged attempt by some officials of the state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to reverse their appointments.

The monarchs – Olokeolooru Obalufon of Okeolooru Obalufon, Oba Adebisi Mukaila Michael, and Onirante of Irante, Oba Ogundele Olasunkanmi Mathew, according to a letter by their counsel, Sulaiman Akano, were elevated to part II Obas during the state executive council meeting held on Friday, September 12, 2025.

5. Court Stops UBA From Disbursing Osun LG Allocations To APC Yes Or No Chairmen

An Oyo State High Court has restrained the United Bank of Africa from disbursing the withheld local government allocations, which were reportedly paid by the federal government to the council officials elected under the All Progressives Congress in Osun State.

The state government had dragged the bank to court over the payment of the over six months withheld allocations.
