The Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has sympathised with families of children whose lives were lost at a funfair in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday.
The spokesperson to the monarch, Moses Olafare, in a statement on Thursday, said, “We share in the grief and pains that have engulfed the affected families. We pray that Olodumare grants them the fortitude to bear this trying time.”

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed I,750 personnel across the state to provide water tight security, covert and overt operations and round the clock surveillance on all critical national assets and infrastructure to ensure a peaceful and crime-free celebration.
This was as the command warned those planning to cause break down of law and order to have a change of mind or ready to face the consequence of their action.
