The Osun State government has urged the Nigerian Railway Corporation to extend its train services beyond Oyo State to enhance economic activities in the region.

The call was made by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bunmi Jenyo, while welcoming passengers of the state-sponsored “Imole Free Train Service” in Osogbo.

The Patron of the Omoluabi Progressives, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has called on Nigerians to keep faith in the country’s democratic process and advancement.

Speaking to newsmen after the Apex meeting of the tendency, Ogbeni Aregbesola affirmed that it is only in a democracy, notwithstanding its shortcomings, that human rights and development are guaranteed.

3. Don’t Intervene In Selection Of Owa Obokun, Ruling House Tells Gov

The Integrity Caucus of the Bilaro Olu-Odo Ruling House in Ilesa, Osun State, has appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke not to be partisan in the selection process and confirmation of appointment of who would be the next Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.

The secretary of the caucus, Gbenga Tosho Haastrup, in a statement, also appealed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dosu Babatunde, to give room for the traditionalists to perform their traditional roles in the selection process.

The group also appealed to kingmakers not to be intimidated or subject themselves to the control of politicians, warning that their decision will make or mar the future of Ijesaland.
