Members of the leading political organisation in Osun State, Omoluabi Progressives, have in a consensus vote agreed to quit the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was the consensus of stakeholders after a session ratifying the earlier resolution of members from the 332 wards of Osun at its monthly meeting in Ilesa on Sunday.

2. Ex-Osun LG Chairmen Kick Over Adeleke’s Alleged Squandering Of N180b

The forum of former chairmen of Osun State local government areas have berated Governor Ademola Adeleke for allegedly squandering N183 billion meant for 30 councils.

The chairmen said the funds in question were allocations to the local governments from the federal purse from November 2022 to November 2024.

Addressing newsmen in Osogbo yesterday, the leader of the ex-council chairmen, Abiodun Owoeye, claimed alongside others that the administration of Adeleke violated the 1999 Constitution by withholding and spending the federal allocations credited to the 30 local government councils.

3. Police Begin Probe As Assailants Stab Osun Varsity Student To Death

Osun State Police Command on Saturday said its detectives have commenced an investigation to unravel the identities of some assailants who stabbed a 200-level student of Bowen University, Iwo, Paul Thinker, to death.

Speaking exclusively with Sunday PUNCH on the matter, the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said the incident was reported to Iwo Divisional Headquarters on Wednesday at about 10: 55pm.

Opalola said the deceased, until his death, was a student in the department of Computer Science at the university.
