1. 2026: Zoning Agitation Will Not Divide Osun APC – Oyetola’s Ex-Aide

A former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Students’ Affairs and Social Mobilisation, Kehinde Ayantunji, has dismissed concerns that the ongoing agitation for zoning within the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) will threaten the party’s unity.

Ayantunji, while speaking on Friday during the weekly Twitter Space organised by Osun Defender, stated that zoning has always been a feature of Osun politics, but it has never been a factor strong enough to cause disunity within the party.

2. Osun Punch Correspondent To Receive NIPR Award Of Excellence

The Osun State Correspondent of The Punch newspaper, Bola Bamigbola, is set to be honoured with the prestigious Osun NIPR Award for Excellence by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Osun State Chapter.

This was announced in a statement by the Chairman of the Osun NIPR, Comrade Ademola Adesoji.

3. Oyo, Osun Customs Generated N7.8bn Revenue – CAC

Oyo/Osun Customs Area Command says it generated over N7.8 billion in revenue and seized contraband goods with a Duty Paid Value of N202 million in January 2025.

The Customs Area Controller, Dr Ben Oramalugo, made the disclosure on Friday in Ibadan while briefing newsmen on the Command’s scorecard for 2024 as well as for January 2025.

Oramalugo said the feat was achieved despite the prevailing economic situation and the implementation of various fiscal policies aimed at boosting the economy.

4. Osun: APC Disputes Adeleke’s 250,000 Job Claim

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State has dismissed the claim of creation of 250,000 jobs in the last two years as declared by the state governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The party reacting through Kola Olabisi, its Director of Media and Information, said the claim was false and criticised the governor for his failure to employ teachers and health workers in the state’s public schools and hospitals.
