1. Osun NSCDC Arrests Teacher, One Other For Alleged Rape, Child Molestation

A 22-year-old school teacher, Ahmadan Akorede, has been remanded in Ilesa correctional center for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old female pupil.

Akorede was remanded by a Magistrate court sitting in Ilesa on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

2. Osun APC Chieftain Urges Pension Scheme Reform

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to step in and alleviate the stress faced by retirees on the Contributory Pension scheme before they receive their retirement benefits.

Oyintiloye, in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday, identified delayed or non-payment of pension, inadequate funding, and corruption within the pension scheme as some of the factors causing hardship and financial stress for the pensioners.

3. Ooni: Caution Oluwo Against ‘Unpleasant’ Remarks, Ekiti Monarch Tells Osun Govt

The Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Akinwande Ogundana, has appealed to the Osun State government and other stakeholders to caution the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Rasheed Adewale, against making unpleasant and derogatory statements.

The traditional ruler, in a statement by his principal secretary, Prince Fagbewesa Oluwole, on Tuesday, said the activities of Oba Adewale in recent times constituted a threat to the peaceful coexistence of the people in the region.

Onikoyi added that Oluwo’s recent remarks against the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, were condemnable, noting that the Ooni’s stool should be respected by all, including other traditional rulers.
