Trey Songs Arrested For Domestic Violence

Singer Trey Songz has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department to face a felony domestic violence charge.

According a report by TMZ, Trey Songz turned himself in alongside his attorney Shawn Holley, for an alleged incident involving a woman he was out with in L.A. last month February during NBA All-Star weekend.

Trey Songz is accused of brutally beating Andrea Buera at a Hollywood Hills party where she claims he was upset because she was talking to another man.

Los Angeles Times reports that Buera’s lawyer said in a statement:

“Trey called her names, choked her and repeatedly punched her in the face. Several people were present and no one helped her”

The statement continued:

“When she took out her phone to call an Uber to get out of there, he threw her phone off a cliff to prevent her from leaving. She took out a second phone and he threw that off the cliff as well.”

Sources told TMZ at the time that following the argument, Andrea Buera then left the party to seek medical attention for minor injuries before filing a report with police.

Trey (whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson) was booked at 6 AM today, and released shortly after 8 AM. He posted a $50,000 bond, TMZ reports.

Right around the time he surrendered for booking, Songz tweeted,

“I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”

For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.

I won’t be speaking too much more on this but would like to thank you for all the prayers and support.

Trey Songz has been involved in violent incidents in the past. In December 2016, Trey was charged with felony assault on a police officer and aggravated assault following a concert in Detroit. In August 2017, he reached a plea deal that reduced the charges to two misdemeanor counts of disturbing the peace; he also received 18 months of probation.

This past December, Trey was sued by a woman who claims that she attempted to take a photograph with him at a Philadelphia venue when, unprovoked, he “accosted her, smacked the phone out of her hand, hitting her in the face and breaking her glasses.” The suit also states that Trey has a “propensity toward violence and negative interaction with the public.” The alleged incident occurred on May 14, 2017.
