Truck Driver, One Other Remanded For Causing Death Of 3 Persons

A 33-year-old driver, Oluwaseun Ogunsola, has been remanded in the Correctional Centre for allegedly killing two persons along Ife/Ibadan Expressway.
Ogunsola, a driver in charge of IVECO truck with registration number OGUN TTD 337 YL drove in a dangerous manner which led to the death of one Foluke Olotu (65), a resident of Wakajaiye and 64-year-old Samuel Agbaje who at Isale Christian Church of Nigeria, Gbongan, Osun State.
Ogunsola was also accused of damaging one Mazda Bus with registration Number: OSUN LEW 412 XF, property of one Bamidele of No. 1, Osokoti Layout, Akure, Ondo State valued N3,000,000.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER on Wednesday, Ogunsola committed the offence on September 11, 2023 at about 13:30hrs at Sallam Sallam Islamic Central, Ife/Ibadan Expressway, Gbongan.
The alleged offence, according to the police, contravened Section 18 of Cap 146, Vol.II, Law of Osun, 2002 and Section 27 of RTA, Cap 548, Laws of Nigeria.
But the defendant pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge bordering on dangerous driving and manslaughter levelled against him.
In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, O.A Daramola, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre, pending the determination of his bail application.
He however transferred the case to Gbongan Magistrate Court.
Also, a 35-year-old driver, Tunji Oyeleye was arraigned before the same magistrate court for allegedly causing the death of a 60-year-old man, Ayoola Yekini and injuring his wife, Sidikat Ayoola at Ita-Olokan area of Osogbo.
He was also remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre pending the determination of his bail application.
