Trump Orders Dismissal Of Biden-Appointed US Attorneys
President Donald Trump has ordered the dismissal of all remaining US attorneys appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, citing the need to restore confidence in the justice system.
Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, stated that the Department of Justice had been “politicised like never before” and declared, “We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY.”
“Therefore, I have instructed the sacking of ALL remaining ‘Biden Era’ U.S. Attorneys,” he said.
“We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY, and restore confidence. America’s Golden Age must have a fair justice system – THAT BEGINS TODAY!”
The move is in line with standard practice, as incoming presidents typically replace US attorneys nominated by their predecessors.
There are 93 US attorneys across the 94 federal court districts in the United States.
