Trump Suspends Military Aid To Ukraine After Clash With Zelensky
US President Donald Trump has temporarily halted the delivery of all military aid to Ukraine following a heated meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington last week.
According to The New York Times, senior administration and military officials confirmed that the suspension affects more than $1 billion worth of arms and ammunition, either in transit or still within the United States.
The decision came after a series of White House meetings on Monday, where Mr Trump and his national security team discussed Ukraine’s approach to peace negotiations with Russia.
Officials cited by The Times said the aid freeze would remain until Mr Trump is convinced that Ukraine is making a “good-faith” effort to engage in diplomatic talks.
The move is expected to have a significant impact on Ukraine’s war effort, as the country has relied heavily on US military and financial support since Russia’s invasion began in February 2022.
