Nigerians have been urged to learn from the lessons of Ramadan fast to promote peace, love and unity in the interest of the progress of the country.
The Asiwaju Musulumi Of Yorubaland, Dr. Khamis Olatunde-Badmus made the call in his Eid-Il-Fitr message today.
Olatunde-Badmus said ramadan teaches muslims to love fellow human beings, engage in self-denial and sacrifice, be kind and caring and dedicate themselves more to the worship of Allah.
According to Badmus, if the values of ramadan are sincerely imbibed, they will promote love and unity in the country.
The business magnate advised the Federal Government to tackle the spate of insecurity in the country in other to make lives, property and investment safe in every nook and cranny of Nigeria.
He added that heavy investments in job creation will reduce criminal tendencies, poverty and frustration, particularly among the youth.
Olatunde-Badmus said, “One way the government can create jobs is to encourage the private sector to develop rapidly by introducing incentives that promote and protect investments”.
The philanthropist added that government can create massive jobs by also encouraging investments in agriculture and Information and Communication Technology.
According to him, ” in age of electric cars and projections of future of less demands for oil, Nigeria needs to diversify quickly to other possible ventures so as not to be caught napping”.
He asked the federal government to urgently evolve ways to tackle the spate of insecurity, terrorism, kidnappings and banditry in the country adding that this has gone on for too long.
