President Bola Tinubu has appointed Tunji Olaopa, a professor of public administration, as the chairman of the federal civil service commission (FCSC).
In a statement on Friday, Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, said Tinubu also approved the appointment of members of the commission.
According to Ngelale, the newly appointed leadership of the commission would resume work on November 30.
He said the president expects the chairman and members to transform the commission through reorientation and leaning on digitalisation to enhance productivity.
“Upon confirmation, the new FCSC leadership is expected to commence work with effect from November 30, 2023, following the expiration of tenure of the current federal civil service commission chairman and membership on November 29, 2023,” the statement reads.
“The president anticipates that the new FCSC leadership will competently facilitate the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the federal bureaucracy to enable, and not stifle, growth and enhanced private sector participation in the development of the Nigerian economy, in full adherence to the renewed hope agenda of his administration.”
