Turaki-Led PDP Collapses Structure Into Wike’s Faction In Rivers
The Tanimu Turaki-led leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has collapsed its structure into the Aaron Chukwuemeka-led faction.
The Chukwuemeka-led faction is loyal to the
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
The factional chairman of the Turaki-led PDP in Rivers State, Robinson Nname Ewor, made the announcement during Wike’s local government visit to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.
Ewor, had during a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Thursday, accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of misleading PDP members in the state by claiming he has the capacity to defeat Wike in the ongoing political contest in Rivers State.
Ewor declared that the PDP is no longer factionalised in Rivers State, a development that raises questions about the fate of the Turaki-led faction in the state.
He said, “Finally before I go. I’m Sim’s PDP Chairman. I hope you people know. You people should know. I’m his Chairman.
“Today, I’m handing over that Chairmanship, leadership of that faction to Aaron Chukwuemeka.
“PDP is no longer factionalised in Rivers State. PDP is under one Chairman and under one leadership, under the FCT leader.”’
