Two Arraigned For Vandalising Transformer Cables

Osun State Police Command on Wednesday arraigned a teenager and one other before Ikire Magistrate Court over the vandalization of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company transformer cables.
The accused persons; Hammed Mukaila, Shakiru Adigun and one Michael now at large were alleged for conspiracy, stealing and damaging property.
According to the charge sheet numbered MRC/71c/2017 sighted by OSUN DEFENDER Reporter, read, “That you Hammed Mukaila, Shakiru Adigun and one Michael now at large on or before 1st of September 2017 at about 10AM at Oluseke village via Ikire did conspire together to commit felony to wit stealing.
” That two of you and one Michael now at large on or before 1st September 2017 at about 10am at the aforementioned place did steal one 20 meter incoming IBEDC transformer cable valued N110,000, 30meters of IBDEC transformer cable valued N270,000, 150meters LNG IBEDC transformer cable valued N7,200 and one 70meters LNG IBEDC transformer cable valued N4,400 total N391,600 property of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Ikire Station.
“That you Hammed Mukaila, Shakira and one Michael now at large on the same date, time and place did willfully damage one IBEDC Electric system which endangers the life of the neighborhood.”
The prosecutor, Sergeant Afeez Ogunwale informed the court that the offence committed by the duo and one others now at large contravene section 516, (9) and 451(b) of the criminal code cap 30 vol. II law of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the three count charge pressed against them by the police.
The two accused person being represented in court by their counsel, Mrs. J. A. Adeboye prayed the Court to grant her client bail on the most liberal and affordable terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs. A.K Oyawale in her ruling, admitted the duo to bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties to swear to affidavit of means and she adjourned the case to November 20th, 2017.
