Two Brothers Arraigned For Breach Of Public Peace

For allegedly breaching public peace, the Osun state police command has arraigned  two suspects, Babatunde Tajudeen, 55, and Lawal Tajudeen, 35, before an Osogbo magistrate court.

The charge sheet read in the court revealed that the accused persons and others at large conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: unlawful assembly and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

Also, the charge sheet disclosed that the accused persons and others assembled themselves in such a manner to incite fear in the neighbourhood  and disturb the peace of the community with intent to carry out some common purpose.

The offence committed, the charge sheet disclosed is contrary to section 69 and punishable under section 70 of criminal code cap 34 vol.11 law of Osun state Nigeria, 2002.

According to the charge sheet, the suspects committed the offence at Ota Efun area of Osogbo on September 27, 2018.

However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the three count charges preferred against them.

The defence counsel, Mr. Tunde Adedokun  prayed the court to grant his client bail in most affordable and liberal terms.

Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.A Ayilara granted the bail of the accused persons in the sum of N200,000 with one surety each and added that they swear to an affidavit of means, as well as possess three   years tax clearance certificate.

He later adjourned the case to November 21, 2018 for mention.
