Two Cooling Off In Police Net Over Alleged Slitting Of Neighbour’s Throat

Two Kwara residents, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju of Shao Garage area, Ilorin, have been arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly slitting the throat of a neighbour, Abubakar Babatunde, over a disagreement.

It was gathered that a resident of the area who witnessed the incident shouted to attract passersby.

The shout attracted the victim’s brother, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, who came to find his younger brother in the pool of his blood bleeding from his slit throat.

The incident according to a source, occurred around midnight on Monday at Shao Garage area, Ilorin, in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

“He was subsequently rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention”, the source added.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident.

She said two people were arrested after the incident was reported.

“The needful will be done as soon as we have concluded our findings”, she said.
