Police Division at Moore Ile-Ife has arrested two suspected members of a dreaded cult group known as Aiye operating in Ile Ife environ.
A dependable source, who sought anonymity, told Osun Defender that the gang had been involved in the robbery, attack on people and rape at Iremo, Akarabata, and Orita Fogo areas of Ile Ife for sometimes.
Those arrested, according to the source, include one of the group’s leaders, identified as Dele (a.k.a. Thunder) and one other, yet to be fully identified.
The two suspects were arrested on Sunday, August 12 by a police team from the Division at about 9.30 p.m. at a beer parlour near Orita Fogo area.
“They were arrested while molesting law-abiding members of the public. The police have been on their trail for sometimes,” the source disclosed.
