Two In Court For Allegedly Stealing Diesel From Ibadan Varsity

Two suspects, Christopher Ogunmodede and Musa Abdullahi, were on Friday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing 9 litres of diesel worth N12,600.

The defendants, who were charged with conspiracy and theft, according to the prosecutor, committed the offences on April 6 at about 9:00 pm at First Technical University, Ibadan.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that the defendants conspired to steal the diesel belonging to the university.

She said that the offences contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants were granted bail by Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, in the sum of N50,000 and one surety each.

Adeola adjourned the case until June 7 for a hearing.
