Two suspects, Lateef Ajetunmobi, 43 and Suraju Yekini, 33 have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo over alleged stealing of 2,514 pieces of chickens.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun explained that the accused person and others at large stole the chickens valued N3, 016,800.
He added that the accused person also stole another 40 pieces of chickens valued N52,000
He said the chickens belong to one Mr. Akosu Samuel.
The prosecutor stated that the offence contravenes section 427 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
He informed the court that the suspect committed the offence on May and August 2018, at Olu farm limited Osogbo.
The two suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The defence counsel, A.O. Emmanuel urged the court to grant the suspects bail in the most liberal terms saying they would not abused the bail of granted
The magistrate, Mrs. Fatimoh Sodamade granted the bail with the sum of N500,000.
She added that the suspects must produce one surety each and swear to an affidavit of means, produce three passport photographs, three years of tax payment and address to be confirmed.
The case was adjourned to October 10, 2018.
