Two Ondo Poly Students Crushed To Death

Two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, in Ondo state, have been crushed to death in an auto crash along Akure-Ondo highway, Ondo state.

The victims are, Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola.

According to reports, a Toyota car reportedly crushed their motorcycle, killing them instantly.

A statement by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC) Ondo State Axis, expressed sadness over the untimely death of the students.

The statement was signed by associations chairman Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, Secretary General, Oluwanishola Ajibola and the Public Relations Officer Kehinde Blessing.

It reads, “The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC) Ondo State Axis is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of two Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji Students in Akure due to an unfortunate accident.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and classmates of these young individuals.

“This is a devastating loss for the student community of Ondo State, and we are heartbroken by the news.

“The sudden and unexpected loss of these students is a devastating reminder of the fragility of life. We grieve with the student community of Ile-Oluji and stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

“We mourn the loss of two young lives that were taken far too soon. Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola were not just students, but individuals with unique talents, aspirations, and dreams.

‘They had their whole lives ahead of them, and we can only imagine the great things they would have accomplished if given the chance.

“As we reflect on the lives of these young people, let us remember that every life is precious and every person has the right to live safely and peacefully.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola.

They hoped that “the families find comfort in the knowledge that their loved ones will never be forgotten and that their memory will continue to inspire us to work for a safer and more just world for all.

Responding to the incident, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response, Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo who commiserated with the families of the victims, condemned the reckless driving that led to the accident.

Adebawo warned drivers against overspeeding and emphasized the importance of exercising caution on the roads.

He stressed the need for drivers to be more vigilant and take necessary safety precautions to prevent such avoidable accidents.
