Two Students Tortured To Death By Seniors In Kano
Two students of Government Secondary School, Bichi in Kano State have died after they were allegedly tortured by senior students inside a school hostel.
The attack, which occurred around 11:30pm on July 14, also left two other students hospitalised with serious injuries.
The school principal, Yusuf Ado Yakasai, reported the incident to the police the following day. He stated that the seniors lured four students — Hamza Idris (19, SS3B), Umar Yusuf (18, SS2C), Ibrahim Ibrahim (SS2B), and Aliyu M. Nasir (SS2C) — into a hostel room and brutally assaulted them over allegations of involvement in “unnatural offences.”
According to him, the victims were rushed to Bichi General Hospital where Idris and Yusuf were confirmed dead.
The other two victims are still receiving treatment and are reportedly responding well.
Police have arrested 12 suspects in connection with the incident. They are Suleman Abdullahi, Ahmad Sanusi, Lawan Alasan Tambai, Aliyu Idris, and Abubakar Abdulaziz (all of SS3A); Ibrahim Nura and Hamza Isiyaku (SS3B); Usaini Mamuda, Masaudu Idris, and Yasir Murtala (SS3C); and Abubakar Muhammad (SS3D).
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing and assured that anyone found guilty will be prosecuted according to the law.
