Two different gangs of thieves have been arrested between the evening of yesterday (Monday) and the early hours of today (Tuesday) around Oke-baale community in the State of Osun.
While the first suspect was nabbed while trying to steal a phone by students of the Osun State University, UNIOSUN, in the area, the second suspect was arrested by security guards.
The second suspect was caught while trying to steal a generator set from a shop.
The thieves were later handed over to the police for prosecution.
According to an eye witness who spoke under anonymity, “The thief caught this morning was trying to steal generator from one of the shops in the market. They were four but the other three were quick to escape. This is just few hours after a young man was caught trying to steal a phone by some students. It is all worrisome but it is good to know thieves are not welcome here, i commend our ever active students and security guards.”
Another residents, also expressed happiness at the failed attempts of the thieves, saying security and protection of lives and property has improved under the current administration.
