U.S. Embassy In Abuja Suspends Visa Appointments Over Security Concerns
The United States Embassy in Abuja has announced the temporary closure of its consular section and the cancellation of visa appointments scheduled between March 6 and March 10, 2026.
In a notice, the embassy said the decision followed security concerns and intelligence reports indicating the possibility of demonstrations near the embassy compound.
According to the statement, all routine and immigrant visa appointments within the period have been cancelled and will be automatically rescheduled.
The embassy described the measure as precautionary and advised applicants to monitor official channels for updates on new appointment dates.
