UI Announces Three-Week Break After Students Protest

Following protests by students of University of Ibadan against the recent tuition fee increament, the management of the institution has announced a three-week break, starting today, Saturday, August 31.

This decision was outlined in a circular issued on Friday by the university’s management after a meeting with the Students’ Union leadership.

In the circular, signed by the Registrar of the University, G.O Saliu, the break is intended to give students enough time to pay their fees and complete online registration.

The first semester examinations, originally scheduled to begin on September 2, have now been postponed to September 23.

The circular also noted that the portal for fee payment and course registration will not be reopened after September 20, 2024.
