The Osun State University Alumni Association will hold its National Convention on Saturday, in line with its Constitution, and elect new officers who will administer the affairs of the association for the next two years.
According to a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the chairman of the Caretaker and Transition Committee, Dr. Toyin Olaniyan, the convention will be held at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium at the main campus of the university tomorrow, April 27, 2024, and commence at 11 am.
The Convention, the statement added, is themed, “The Role of Alumni in the Development of the University” and is regarded as a homecoming as it allows members of the ivory tower to visit where they obtained their various degrees and certificates several years ago.
The release noted further that 15 candidates are contesting for various leadership positions in the association and that 263 registered and eligible voters will make the all-important decision of electing new officers for the association.
Thereafter, the chairman clarified that the election and voting of new National Executive Council members will start by 2:30 pm to ensure that registered members of the alumni community, who are coming from far places are not left out and end by 4:00 pm.
