The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has knocked the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, over his remarks on the current administration in the state.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that Gbajabiamila, during his visit to the state on Tuesday as the guest speaker at the maiden edition of the Osun State University annual lecture, lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke and his team for doing a ‘phenomenal job’.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, who met with the governor at the Government House, Osogbo, said Adeleke has prioritised governance above politics in his dealings with the federal government.

“I must say that you and members of your team are doing a phenomenal job in the state and on the national pedestal”, Gbajabiamila said.

However, the Osun APC, whose leadership was conspicuously absent at the annual lecture, while reacting through the Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, said Gbajabiamila’s remark about the present administration was borne out of insufficient information on the true position of governance in Osun State.

The statement partly read, “Would it be correct to adjudge a governor who spent N55 billion to eat, drink and maintain his expensive life style, but could not employ a single teacher into the public primary and secondary schools in almost three years, after swindling the job applicants with their hard-earned money in the name of application fees, as doing a ‘phenomenal job’?

“Is it possible for a governor who is doing a ‘phenomenal job’ to shut down all the local government council areas in the state for over three months running over his refusal to have respect for the rule of law in the case of the reinstated APC council chairmen and councillors?

“A governor who brazenly insults the judiciary and cherry picks the rulings of the court can not be said to be phenomenal.”
