The management of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, has extended the resumption date for the 2023/2024 academic session by one week.
This was contained in a statement sent to Osun Defender on Friday and signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Gafar Shittu.
OSUN DEFENDER recalls that the university had earlier announced that the university will resume on the 13th of November, 2023.
However, in a statement by the Registrar of the University said the academic session is now set to commence on the 20th of November, 2023 and end on the 9th of August 2024,
The Harmattan semester of the university is set to commence lectures on the 20th of November 2023 for both fresh students and returning students and to end the semester on the 22nd of March 2024.
The rain semester for the 2023/2024 academic session is set to commence lectures on the 8th of April 2024 and end the session on the 9th of August 2024.
The statement reads partly, “I write to inform you that the vice chancellor on behalf of the senate had approved the postponement of the resumption date for 2023/2024 academic session for all students.
“All Students will resume on Monday 20th of November 2023.
“The change in the date is for the safety of the students since their hostels have been recently fumigated hostels will be safely accessible on Monday 20th of November 2023.
“All students are been informed of the postponement of the earlier date of resumption announced and they are now to resume on Monday 20th November 2023.”
