Osun State University has kick-started an educative radio programme aimed at proffering solutions to developmental challenges confronting the country.
Tagged UNIOSUN Solutions Forum, the programme, which will be aired on a private radio station every Tuesday by 2 pm, will always feature certified skilled and unbiased professionals in various fields within the University, who will be enlightening and engaging the masses on trending societal challenges and as well providing practical solutions to them.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Ademola Adesoji, the initiative is in line with the university’s mission of creating a unique institution that is committed to the pursuit of academic innovation, skill-based training and a tradition of excellence in teaching, research and community service.
Commenting on the programme, Adesoji quoted the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Labode Popoola as saying “We created this solutions forum to bring the gown to the town for a better society.
“The solutions forum represents a paradigm shift in how we understand and engage with national problems, UNIOSUN Solutions Forum focuses, rather, on possible solutions to extant problems.
“The shift in narrative is timely and provides a unique opportunity for the University to impact society positively, especially given that the government relies on academia to proffer solutions to developmental challenges.”
