A man said to be a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, (UNIPORT) has been caught on HD camera sexually harassing a female student in his office.
In a viral video shared on Instagram, it could be seen how the lecturer was sexually harassing the student by touching some parts of the female student.
The student in the video was seen trying to stop the lecturer and keeping her distance but the man in the video was seen dragging the student closer to him.
However, while reacting to the viral video, the Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr Sam Kpenu, described the video as fake and misrepresentation.
He said that the video was released by Rivers State University TV, noting that it was erroneous to attribute the video to the UNIPORT.
Kpenu said: “If you look at the video, the video was released by the Rivers State University TV – RSUTV Video. If you look at the video you will see the inscription RSUTV. So it has nothing to do with the University of Port-Harcourt.
“It is purely misrepresentation and then our faculty of Microbiology, Department of Microbiology is upstairs but if you look at the video you can see outside with grasses. So our microbiology is upstairs, it is in three three-story building upstairs, so we don’t have such a thing in our university.
“That’s why we are not in a hurry to respond to the video. It is the Rivers State University TV that released that, so that thing did not happen at the University of Port-Harcourt. The video is fake and was released by the Rivers State University TV. We never recorded such an incident in our university.”
Meanwhile, efforts to speak with the Rivers State University were unsuccessful as the Public Relations Officer of the institution could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
