Uniq FM GM, Jare Ayo-Martins Emerges Ijesa Sports Club President
The General Manager of Uniq FM Ilesa, Otunba Jare Ayo-Martins, has been elected the new president of the prestigious Ijesa Sports Club.
Ayo-Martins emegerd winner after a highly competitive poll held on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The election, which took place at the club’s headquarters, drew members in large numbers as they exercised their voting rights to choose new leadership for the association.
Speaking after the election, the new president appreciated members of the club for the trust reposed in him.
He also lauded his opponent, Erelu Jumoke Olafadehan and sought collaboration to move the club forward.
Meanwhile, in his first official order, Ayo-Martins announced the appointment of the Ajirowa of Ijesaland, Chief Lateef Bakare as the new patron of the club.
He said, “I Jare Ayo-Martins, the new President, Ijesa Sports Club, hereby want to use my first presidential fiat by appointing an illustrious son of Ijesaland, Ajirowa Lateef Bakare as a new patron of this club.
“I want to appreciate all the members of the club and also to congratulate my opponent sister and friend, Erelu Jumoke Olafadehan. You have done very well and posterity will judge that at a point in time, you fought but God wanted it to be this way,” the new president stated.
