A former Commissioner for Education under the immediate past administration in Osun State, Mr Folorunso Oladoyin, has disclosed how the immediate past national secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore, saved the party from eviction from its secretariat in Osogbo.
Oladoyin, said Omisore, who is one of the aspirants eyeing the gubernatorial ticket of the APC in Osun state, paid the rent for the party secretariat located along Gbongan-Ibadan expressway when the landlord was about to evict the occupants.
In a viral video, the former Commissioner said that less than two years after the APC lost the 2022 gubernatorial election, the party leadership went to meet the former deputy governor to inform him that they were about to get evicted due to non-payment of rent.
Oladoyin, however, said Omisore addressed the situation by paying the rent.
He said, “It was Omisore who told the state executives that the party was not functioning as expected, and the executives told him that they wanted to work, but they were financially constrained. Omisore asked what they needed, and they brought a budget of N20m, which he gave them to tour all the 31 local governments to resuscitate the party.
“After that, they came again and said that the landlord of the party secretariat had told them to vacate because they were owing him. He felt embarrassed because that time, it was not more than two years after the government. Omisore also cleared that money.”
