Upcoming Artistes Are Stressful – Tiwa Savage Rejects Signing New Talents

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has ruled out signing upcoming artistes, citing the stress involved in managing musicians.

In an interview with Forbes Africa on Thursday, she said handling artistes can be overwhelming, as they often attract controversies that require constant attention.

“Everyone always asks me, ‘When will you sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artiste is trending for something else,” she said.

Instead of running a record label, Savage plans to support young talents by creating a music school where aspiring artistes can develop their craft before signing with established labels.

“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you,” she added.
