UPDATE: Fire Forces Senate To Adjourn Plenary
More facts have emerged on the sudden adjournment of plenary at the Senate on Thursday.
There was a fire outbreak at Room SB 63 Technical Room at the White House, Senate Wing of the National Assembly complex which sent smoke through the air conditioning system to the chamber.
The technical team in the building have since put out the fire.
The Senate had resumed plenary today but adjourned to Tuesday, saying the atmosphere was not conducive.
Senator Abdullahi Gobir raised a point of order to lament that the chamber was not conducive for the lawmakers.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, ruled that the session be adjourned while the repairs should be done over the weekend.
