US Atack in Venezuela Pure Hypocrisy — Ex-Buhari’s Aide
Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has condemned the reported United States invasion of Venezuela, describing it as a clear case of hypocrisy by Washington.
Ahmad made the remark on Saturday in a post on his verified X handle while reacting to reports surrounding the incident.
It was earlier reported that US President Donald Trump announced the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
The United States later disclosed that Maduro is facing drug trafficking and terrorism-related charges.
Reacting, Ahmad compared the situation to the Russia–Ukraine war, arguing that global standards were being applied selectively.
He wrote, “When Russia attacked Ukraine, it was rightly called a crime. Now the United States attacks Venezuela and suddenly it’s described as ‘liberating the people.’ What a staggering hypocrisy.”
