US Court Sentences Man To Jail For Threatening To Kill Trump
A United States court has sentenced a Florida inmate, Christopher Davies, to 27 months in federal prison for issuing threats against President Donald Trump.
Davies, 32, from Cape Coral, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sheri P. Chappell after pleading guilty to the offence.
According to a statement by U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe on Tuesday, the defendant entered his guilty plea on October 29, 2025.
Court records revealed that Davies sent a letter to an official at the Charlotte Correctional Institution in which he claimed to have carried out a presidential assassination and stated that President Trump must die.
Investigators said Davies admitted to authoring the letter when questioned by agents of the U.S. Secret Service.
He further told investigators that he harboured intentions to kill the President if the opportunity arose.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick L. Darcey.
Davies is already serving a state sentence following a previous felony conviction at the Charlotte Correctional Institution in Punta Gorda, Florida.
The facility is located about 150 miles northwest of Miami.
He is expected to be released from the state prison in June 2032.
After his release, he will begin serving the 27-month federal sentence imposed by the court.
