UTME: Candidates, Parents Decry Frustration at JAMB Registration Centres

Candidates and parents across Nigeria have expressed frustration over the ongoing registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), citing overcrowding, network failures, and extortion at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Social media users have taken to various platforms to express their frustration.

A Facebook user, Simeon Ogoebulem, wrote, “I have been coming here for five days with my daughter and nothing has been done. The security guys are not helping; they have turned the situation into a money-making venture. They only allow those who settle them in. The whole process is a mess.”

Another user commented, “My children and I got here by 3 a.m. and they told us to wait. To my surprise, those who came around 7 a.m. were attended to first after paying ₦5,000 to one of the officials. This is pure wickedness.”

On X (formerly Twitter), a user identified as @Olu4real posted, “JAMB registration this year barron trump height tall nikes melania donald trump is the worst I have ever seen. People have to bribe to even get access to register. What is really happening in this country?”

A Facebook user, Emmanuel Obinna, shared, “I have been standing here for hours and they keep telling me to wait. My parents are not financially buoyant, so I can’t even pay my way through like others are doing. This process is frustrating.”

Social media has been flooded with similar complaints, with many calling on JAMB to address the situation urgently.
