The Ooni of Ife, regarded as the spiritual leader of the Yoruba people, is traditionally notified first whenever a monarch from other parts of the Yoruba kingdoms passes away, a ritual that solidifies the deep-rooted connection between Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization, and other Yoruba kingdoms.
In honour of the late Owa Obokun, the Ijesha delegation, led by palace chiefs, performed traditional rites as they paid their respects to the Ooni and sought his blessings for the transition.
The delegation of Ooni of Ife acknowledged the legacy of the late Oba Aromolaran and offered prayers for the peaceful transition of power in Ijesaland.
